NAPOLEON CROSSING THE RHINE

(traditional)

Dave Para: guitar; Cathy Barton: hammered dulcimer; Ed Trickett: hammered dulcimer

I learned this tune playing with the Little Dixie Hoss Hair Pullers who probably got it from the Fuzzy Mountain String Band, but it is played by a lot of people in Missouri and Arkansas. Other titles have Bonaparte crossing the Alps and the Rocky Mountains. Of other titles, "Caledonia March" Suggests a Scottish origin, while "Sherman's March" suggests something else.
