Ballad of the Boonslick
Including fiddlers Taylor McBaine and John Murdock 1982
Released in 1982, this is a collection of fiddle tunes, old-time hymns, ballads and songs with banjo, hammered dulcimer, guitars and vocals and two fine Missouri fiddlers, Taylor McBaine and John Murdock. Two songs by Boonville songwriter Bob Dyer were premiered on this album, which also features on the cover our reenactment of the painting “The Jolly Flatboatmen,” by Missouri painter George Caleb Bingham. In 2003, we released this album on CD and included as bonus cuts five from our first album, “Movin’ On Down the River.”
